In 2008, Elizabeth Halliday, with an early career in Pharmaceuticals R&D, and which eventually led her into Science Facilities Management, recognised that with the rapid globalisation of regional economies companies were beginning to use their Science Facility Management organisations as a strategic resource in order to stay competitive. Against such a background it was considered that there was a market need to provide the Science FM Community, Individuals and Corporate alike, with a powerful and multi-faceted meeting place for information, dialogue and development of business initiatives.

This was the strategic thinking behind the launch of ScienceGen Limited in 2009 with ScienceGen.com as its web portal. ScienceGen Limited is a specialist consulting company able to assist clients in the planning, design and operational management of their Science & R&D assets. ScienceGen’s knowledge base and wide ranging Industry experience place it in an ideal position to partner clients whose business activities are primarily focused on the areas of R&D, Pharmaceutical, BioHealth, Science Park and Integrated Workplace Management Systems (IWMS).

ScienceGen is able to offer support to companies and facilities management (FM) organisations in achieving their objectives of delivering high quality services, cost reductions and delivering online management systems designed to optimise the strategic management of assets - 'People, Places and Things'.
